Many of us could use a big dose of inspiration and celebration as we move through 2024. Come join us for an evening of inspiring stories told by Vermont storytellers, celebrating the work of hard-working communities and non-profits doing great work all around us. You’ll get to hear inspiring stories told by Lt. Governor David Zuckerman, Vermont Public’s Mikaela Lefrak, Vermont Adaptive’s Misha Pemble-Belkin, Anne Lezak, VPIRG’s Lis Harwood, EAN’s Jared Duval, and Nature Connected Villages’ Jess Buckley.

The Master of Ceremonies for the night is Gareth Higgins (and he’ll tell a story or two). Gareth was born in Belfast in 1975, grew up during “The Troubles” in northern Ireland, and is now a writer, speaker, and activist. He is also a wonderful storyteller who pulls you in with warmth, vulnerability and lots of humor. Gareth is a co-founder of The Porch (“The stories we tell shape our lives … and our stories can be shelters or prisons.”), and he recently published “How Not to be Afraid” – a wonderful and wise book about fear.

Musician extraordinaire and Vermont Public host James Stewart will join Gareth on stage.

We aim for you to leave with a sense of connection, affirmation – and the goodness of knowing that many people truly believe we are all in this together. And, we have the stories to prove it.
