Storytelling and More….
Every day many Vermonters get up and go to work in organizations that are helping and healing people: teachers, doctors, nurses, therapists, caregivers, teachers, social workers, reporters, front line workers, advocates, town council members, legislators, and many more. They spend their time working to make our lives better.
Many of us could use a big dose of inspiration and celebration as we enter into 2024. Come join us for an evening of stories told by Vermont storytellers. celebrating the work of the communities of compassion that are all around us. We aim for you to leave with a sense of connection, affirmation, and the goodness of knowing that lots of people truly believe we are all in this together – and have the stories to prove it.
The Master of Ceremonies for the night is Gareth Higgins (and he’ll tell a story or two). Gareth was born in Belfast in 1975, grew up during “The Troubles” in northern Ireland, and is now a writer, speaker, and activist. He is also a wonderful storyteller who pulls you in with warmth, vulnerability and lots of humor. Gareth is a co-founder of The Porch (“The stories we tell shape our lives … and our stories can be prisons or shelters.”), and he recently published “How Not to be Afraid” – a wonderful and wise book about fear.
